Aref International projects are referred to local initiatives promoted by the Association in favour of local Communities, on the basis of the local contacts’ recommendations, chosen and verified by ourselves during our periodical inspections.
Such projects may be long term based or short term based depending on their conclusion through achievement.
The main Projects of Local Initiatives in progress to date are:
“THE QUEST” – News from Exile
It is a social magazine, written both in English and in Tibetan, edited by the young monks of Gaden Jangtse Thoesam Norling School in Mundgod (Karnataka State, South India). The project has the aim to contribute to the propagation of knowledge regarding the problems coming from the refugee conditions of the Tibetan people.
“SPECIAL MEMORIES”
This project begins at the “Old and Infirm House” of Tibetan Settlement in Mundgod (Karnataka State, South India) and will be developed in other locations with the same features and aims. Its aim is to contribute to preserve Tibet wealth and cultural heritage.
